ChiRunning® & ChiWalking®
I offer ChiRunning and ChiWalking classes, and one-on-one accelerated learning -- all the essentials you need to learn the basics of ChiRunning or ChiWalking and to improve your technique and form. I also offer group instruction and can come talk to your group or organization about the many benefits of ChiRunning and/or ChiWalking. Please contact me for details.

ChiRunning Essentials 1/2 Day Workshop
The ChiRunning program combines the inner focus and flow of T’ai Chi with the power and energy of running to create a revolutionary running form and philosophy that takes the pounding, pain, and potential damage out of the sport of running.

This workshop is a great introduction to the ChiRunning technique. You’ll get lots of personal attention and enjoy a rich learning experience packed with good information to help you run injury-free for the rest of your life.

  • Upper body and lower body usage
  • Personal check-in tricks and tools

Class Format: The ChiRunning Essentials workshop includes four hours of instruction in a single 1/2 day from beginning at 8:00 AM and concluding around noon. Please bring a snack (if needed) and some water, and check weather forecasts to dress appropriately.

ChiRunning Hill Running Essentials 2 Hour Workshop
This workshop will continue building your ChiRunning skills. First you'll be taken through a thorough review of what you learned in the ChiRunning Essentials Four Hour workshop (or two hour ChiRunning Intro class). Then you'll be introduced to a new (and improved!) way to run up and down hills using ChiRunning techniques that minimize the pounding to your legs and body and maximize the efficiency of your energy output. You'll come away with a new set of skills that'll make hills much more fun and much less tiring.

Class Format: The ChiRunning Hill Running Essentials workshop includes two hours of instruction beginning at 8:00 AM and concluding around 10 AM. Please bring a snack (if needed) and some water, and check weather forecasts to dress appropriately. NOTE: You must have completed a 2 hour Introductory ChiRunning class or a 4 hour ChiRunning Essentials workshop to take this class.

Cost: $75

Accelerated Learning Personalized ChiRunning/ChiWalking Instruction and Coaching
I offer personal ChiRunning/ChiWalking instruction and coaching, and can customize an instructional or training program for you. I can also videotape your form and offer personal tips and strategies to dramatically improve your running. When you want to go beyond the essentials of the method. This also makes a perfect gift for the walker or runner in your life.

Cost: $75 per hour

ChiWalking®
ChiWalking is a mindful approach to walking that focuses on proper body alignment, core muscle strengthening and leading with the upper body when walking.

ChiWalking will help you get into great shape by following these five mindful steps:

1. Get aligned - Develop great posture and better balance.
2. Engage your core - Make back and knee pain disappear.
3. Create balance - Walk faster and further with less effort.
4. Make a choice - Consciously choose healthy habits.
5. Move forward - Make walking a mindful enjoyable experience.

ChiWalking® Classes
In this three hour class you'll learn the five mindful steps as well as the basic fundamentals of the ChiWalking method. The main components covered are:

- Introduction to the ChiWalking
- Injury-prevention techniques
- Core muscle drills and exercises
- Proper use of upper body and lower body
- Innovative technique drills
- Walking up and down hills safely and efficiently

Cost: $80

Would you like a class taught to your group?
If you're in the San Diego area just assemble a group of six people (yourself included) and find a suitable location -- a park with some flat sections a sandbox and a restroom is ideal -- for the class and you attend for free.
